I received my first Ovation Speed paddle from a friend. It had already seen a lot of usage but still had a lot of life. At first, I loved it, but then I didn't. The power of the paddle was more than I wanted. I went to the Proflight and loved that paddle. Then, my game changed and I went back to the Speed paddle. Counterintuitively, I found that a power paddle with the right-sized grip gave me more control with *****, resets, and firefights than a more control-oriented paddle. The trick for me was building up the tiny grip on the Speed paddle until I could comfortably hold the paddle loosely. Unfortunately, the life of that original speed paddle came to an end. Fortunately, I found the Speed II model at a great price on the Prokennex site. From start to finish, it has been a great experience with ProKennex and the Speed II. The Speed II has been around for several years, but she's the first gal I ask to dance. I also recommend going straight to Prokennex to buy this paddle. Besides great pricing, their follow-up communication is excellent. Plus, they included a series of very useful pickleball drill videos.

Sent 2 emails regarding my paddle…no reply! No reply from customer service after my purchase in spite of their claim; before and after purchase! I bought 3 paddles. Very disappointed.

I have been using the Prokennex Ovation Speed II Series paddle now for a couple of weeks and I have to say initially it took some time getting used to the round shape but I love the feel when it hits the ball so I kept using it instead of my other paddle and really have grown to like it a lot. It is fast and hits the ball great. I have to slow down my serves as there is a lot of power. Very easy to manuever at the kitchen. It is a winner in my book!
